I’m conflicted about Valentine’s Day because it’s a conspiracy and because it sometimes feels like the lazy lovers holiday. For me small gestures of love are important in every day life. Somehow it means more to receive flowers, chocolate, a card or a comic book (yup, that’s my thing) on a random day when I’m least expecting it then on an assigned holiday…
But enough with my reservations about our national day of love (there have been times when I’ve gotten just as caught up in the hoopla as the next romantic so who am I to judge). This post is about DESSERTS – sweet, tasty, valentine-inspired desserts that look easy enough to DIY (except for the smores). And if you’re not up for the added stress you can find them here.
Note to brides – these would make fantastic favors or desserts for the wedding or bridal shower.

These are all so lovely and I’m a complete sucker for pretty food. I do agree with you though on the little every day gestures, they’re far more important than some Hallmark card on the same day every year
